We stopped at this cute artisanal ice cream shop when in Monterey after enjoying some beach time at Carmel. Revival is in the style of Bay Area ice cream, combining inventive flavors to make some truly delicious ice cream. What I particularly loved about Revival is how amazingly creamy their ice cream was! My wife Rebecca got the Bee's Knees ice cream on top of a scoop of chocolate (featured below), which was truly spectacular. I got the cappuccino chip, which was also very good, but I think if you go to Revival, you have to at least try the Bee's Knees ice cream. I don't normally go for the honey ice creams, but this was something else. It combines burnt honey, bees wax, bee pollen, and honey comb into a vanilla base. By far the best honey-inspired ice cream I've ever had. I also tried the Eucalyptus Mint Fudge, which was really interesting and tasty, but not as special as the Bee's Knees. I would probably rank Revival in the top 5 greater Bay Area ice cream shops, and definitely worth a visit whenever you find yourself in Monterey.
